Which hardware for pfSense should I choose?
-
After my pfSense router broke following the latest update on 20181223: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/139037/pfsense-router-not-connecting-after-update/27
I'm looking at a new router.
I like low power consumption like my current broken router https://www.pcengines.ch/apu.htm
I like the 101-500 Mbps suggestion at the bottom of this page https://www.pfsense.org/products/#requirements
Also like the 501+ Mbps if the hardware is within budget.
Any suggestions?
Also need a Wi-Fi signal in the west of the house. I store the router in the north east garage, at the bottom of a 5 metal shelf thingy. -
you didn't say your budget.
i consider this reasonably priced: https://store.netgate.com/MBT-2220-system.aspx
then get a switch and a UBNT AP.

The SG-3100 is a reasonable price point and very low power usage. It will cover the speeds you have now, and provide you ample of growth.
The MBT-2220 will cover the speeds you want.
I would contact our talented sales team at sales@netgate(dot)com to get you a good unit for the price and speeds needed.Anyway you choose to go, you really want to have an external Wifi Access Point (AP), FreeBSD/pfSense does not have the best wireless support.

I can suggest you the SG-3100
