      Hi,

      How can I obtain the Coreboot firmware for the MBT-4220?

      Thanks

        As far as I know it is not distributed as a binary. I have set out to compile it a few times and hit various road-blocks.

        The shipped BIOS with the MBT-4220 is Intel not Coreboot though. Updates for that are available here:

        However I'm not aware f any particular reason you should update that and of course there is risk involved. I don't believe we have tested the latest version either or at least I have not heard any results.

          @stephenw10 thanks for the info.

          I wanted to try the Coreboot as I understand it provides a legacy boot option.

          Some older versions of pfSense will not boot on this hardware due to the UEFI only firmware.

          Compiling firmware is way beyond my technical knowledge sadly!

            Don't use outdated software, especially when it comes to your firewall or other security related uses.

              That is true, it will only boot 2.4+ due to the UEFI requirement.

              There are some pretty detailed write-ups out there for compiling Coreboot.

              There is also (or at least was) a third party BIOS that enabled legacy booting on the original Minnowboard max and Turbot.
