Hostnames don't appear in ARP table for static mappings. Normal?

EDIT: As I said, beginner problem. Much better results when looking at the DHCP leases... :-)

Beginner problem probably.
Before I set static mappings for the hosts on my LAN, the hostnames for the respective devices (desktop, laptop, server, etc.) showed up in the ARP table so that the IP of a certain device could rapidly be found by looking in the hostname column.

Now, since I created static mappings for the devices on my LAN, the hostname column is empty. Nothing shows up, although I have specified a hostname for each mapping.

Is this expected? It looks a bit incomplete with an empty column.
