      Hi there,

I have an SG 2220, and today I attempted to login to the GUI and immediately lost access. Looking at the hardware, all NIC lights are on (even with cables unplugged) and status is orange.

I've powercycled many times, and have attempted to factory reset but the button does not seem to work. All lights come on immediately after plugging in the power and nothing changes. I've tried waiting 10 seconds and holding for 30-60 seconds... I've tried holding it immediately after plugging in power with no luck.

I don't have a console cable, but I'm assuming thats my last resort. Seems bricked - has anyone else seen this behaviour?

It's actually your first best choice.
Devices like "SG 2220" have no screen (build-in VGA) and keyboard access, so the serial access is your main setup entry point.
If all goes well during boot, eventually the GUI will become accessible.
The slightest disk issue => no GUI.

IMHO : when buying a Netgate device or comparable, the serial cable is an option because you might already have that cable. But for your first and only device it a must-have.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

Thanks for the replies, and I appreciate the insights, Gerjan. I got my hands on a cable and tried it out, but no dice. Latest driver installed, attempting to connect w/ Putty, and there's nothing.

I've created a ticket as suggested by Chris Macmahon. Hoping Netgate can help me out as it would be a shame if a $300+ device was already dead.
