Problems with NEST cameras after fresh install

I added a pfSense box on APU2C4 hardware and a RouterBoard switch in front of my outdoor NEST cameras and they started intermittently going offline. I have 3 cameras in total and it toggles between 1 or 2 of them working. Never more than 2 of 3 online simultaneously.
Rolled back out of bridge mode and everything is back to normal when my Ubiquiti AP is plugged directly into the ISP supplied SR505N. All 3 cameras work fine with no lag or outage.Anybody else heard of a similar issue? Is it simply too much load for the APU2? FYI - My internet speed is 50 down / 10 up VDSL.

No it's not too much load. Can't really say more because I have no idea what kind of games the nest cameras are playing.

@derelict the problem is not with the cameras. The problems started when I added the pfSense box and the switch to the mix. When I rolled everything back to plugging directly in the SR505N all is good,

I have one of these I deploy in the field so I cannot see what more than one tries to do. But-

The only change from the pfsense default config was selecting to use the Google DNS resolvers. This was a fresh install and did not create any firewall rules.
Not sure I am willing to go through the pain of standing up the APU2 box again. I will probably sell it and look for a new solution after proving it doesn't work. -
That's your choice but does not help the community out at all..
I'd for one would like to know what is going on. If the Nest cams are relying on poor design in a router to work.. or if there is something the dev's here could improve on.. Or something is going on in your particular situation I guess we won't know until someone else comes along with the same issue.
I do know that with what is probably close to a million pfsense users around the world this is the first Ive heard of someone with your particular problem. Its hard for me to believe that your the only one trying to use more than 2 cameras.
Id like to know what happens when you take the Router Board switch out of the equation. Since you seem to state this when you state that your plugging your UBNT AP directly into the factory supplied router..
What does your Router Board do for you other than be a switch? Tell us its real purpose.

Maybe they require UPnP or something (which would be reason enough for me to return them) and that's on by default (which is also bad) on the other router. Don't know since I don't have any nest cameras. Kind of relying on you for information about what it is they actually need.
Out of the box pfSense allows all outbound connections on all ports. If the Nest cameras need something else, that something else needs to be identified.

Years ago, I would get my back up about these kinds of things, and take it as a challenge to defend pfSense from people saying it's broken etc. Nowadays I just can't be bothered anymore. Just let this dude go. He already has his mind made up, pfSense has nothing to prove, and you're not obligated to fix this guy's problem just because he's blaming pfSense.

The Nest cams go out and connect to Google owned servers somewhere. You cannot even reach them other than a ping from the subnet they are on. Though I have not tried very hard. My guess is the OP has other issues.
My only use for them is to deploy them in the field using a MIFI device and a battery in a box I strap/lock to a pole as they go out (and constantly try to reconnect to the server if network goes down) which allows me to see the video on a page hosted by them. Or connect to their server using Blue Iris to the stream address.. https://stream-us1-foxtrot.dropcam.com/ (my uuid) With that I can build these kinds of clips.. https://video.nest.com/clip/8b0c828d1338400294c94dae14b67e32.mp4 But Ive had no problems connecting behind any of my pfsense networks anywhere..

This is likely highly related to the OP's initial problem:

We need to know more about this bridge mode and which device you are talking about.

I am not blaming pfSense. I ran pfSense for quite a few years up until 2016 when I moved. My internet service has since changed at my new house. My old APU2 hardware worked fine with my old 15Mbps cable connection. Now that I am on vDSL I was more leaning towards the issue being hardware related. Unfortunately I did not have the time to do any thorough troubleshooting as I had to have my network back up and running ASAP with my cameras working. Regarding the Routerboard switch, the default settings were applied. I simply unboxed it and plugged it in to the LAN port of the pfSense box. My goal of posting on here was to see if somebody experienced something similar with NEST or other security cameras. I was hoping the setup would be as easy as it was in the past but unfortunately it isn't.
