      Is there any way to tunnel IP multicast between two pfSense firewalls?

      Thanks in advance.

        OpenVPN TAP tunnel maybe. IGMP proxy might need to be involved.

        What exactly are you trying to do?

          I am, most literally, trying to tunnel IP multicast streams and IGMP from one network to another, across the Internet.

            Well if you can use the same layer 2 on both sites OpenVPN TAP might do that.

            Otherwise IGMP proxy might allow devices in the remote subnet to subscribe to the streams. However that can be hard to get working between subnets on the same firewall, running across a tunnel would likely be harder.

              @stephenw10

              Thank you for that link. I am going to try setting IGMP proxy between two instances of pfSense across a GIF tunnel. I'll post back if I make it work.

                  Sorry, no. I have to move a facility in late June and that is when it is going to happen.
