      I have looked over this form and tried following the ways other people have done it but I can't seem to get it to work please any help would be great.

        If you just bought this modem, the ISP probably has to enable it.

        Turn off the cable modem.

        Disconnect the cable modem ethernet

        Turn on the cable modem

        Wait for it to go all green

        Make sure the pfSense WAN interface is configured for DHCP.

        Connect the WAN interface to the cable modem.

          I had some time when no one was using the internet to try what you said but it didn't work. I did spot something that was the actual reason for my problem. It was a bad connector once I replaced it. It worked.

          BTW this thread can be locked.

          tl:dr bad connector to blame
