I noticed this old thread https://forum.netgate.com/topic/35915/2-0-rc3-can-ppp-l2tp-be-used-to-create-an-l2tp-tunnel which seems to match what I'm looking for.

Is this still not possible? This is a real drag as I was wanting to use L2TP to bond my PPPoE and DHCP 4G connections, but it seems I can only select the latter as pfSense only lets you choose interfaces not gateways.

That said, I'm not sure it will work anyway as it also doesn't seem to let you put the same target L2TP server for multiple interfaces. :(

I'm really surprised such a powerful router OS as pfSense doesn't seem to let you do this.
