      I am trying to install the latest pfSense-CE-2.4.4-RELEASE-p1, I have tried making a USB stick and also tried burning the CD ISO to disk and trying that, but i get stuck at the same point, i see the initial pfSense installer menu, and then press enter or let it auto select option 1, and I get the following:

      /boot/kernel/kernel text=0x17bfd50 data=0xb93c38+0x517b18 syms=[0x8+0x197280+0x197de9]
      Booting...
      /

      then it just sits there at a flashing cursor and doesn't progress. I am installing on:
      Hystou Fanless Mini-PC
      Intel® Celeron® Processor J3160 Quad Core
      2*Realtek RTL8111E 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 Lan Port;
      Model: H3-N3160-1C

        Not much to suggest other than look at the BIOS settings and start experimenting with AHCI options, boot options etc.

          https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/install/upgrade-guide.html#upgrading-from-versions-older-than-pfsense-2-4-4

          Read paragraph about Intel Atom systems containing HD Graphics chipsets.

            OK, so the fix for anyone else having the same issue, was to press ESC at the boot menu, and then type
            set kern.vty="sc"
            boot

            then install proceeded to completion. Had the same issue with the installed system, so did the same thing to boot, and then logged into the Web GUI under System | Advanced | System Tunables, added the same item.

              Hello, I have exactly the same model from Hystou and it ran pfsense very well .. untill I flashed an unsupported bios update ..

              Would be very nice if you could get dump image out of your H3-N3160-1C and send it over to me or post anywhere on the web.

              Thanks
