      I have a Netgate FW-7551 with American Megatrends BIOS version 5.6.5, released July 2014.

      How do I know if I should update it? How do I know if there are any vulnerabilities that need patching?

        The FW-7551 is End Of Life and was replaced by the SG-4860.

        The SG-4860 IS End Of Sale and replaced by the SG-5100.

        I'm not sure what BIOS should be on that device, but it might be time to look into something new.

          I'm not aware of a BIOS update for that firewall. If there were anything it might be a cpu microcode update for meltdown/spectre but we update that at boot anyway.
