Just got my 3100 and love it. I hooked my wireless AP into one of the LAN ports and was hoping to be able to use SNMP to monitor throughput for my wireless network but i only see LAN, WAN and OPT1 when browsing with an SNMP tool. Is it possible to monitor the individual LAN ports or only the LAN->WAN traffic?

You need to understand that these are switch ports, not dedicated interfaces.

@grimson I understand that they are switched ports but i have a managed switch that lets me monitor individual ports. Just curious whether the SG-3100 has that ability or not. Based on what i'm seeing, i'm guessing not.

The switch itself does not support SNMP as far as I know.

You can set the interface to reflect a port status so if you have VLANs with each port separated they might refelect the status of all ports.

@stephenw10 Can you expand on that, not entirely sure what function you are talking about here. TIA

If you separate out one of the switched ports using a VLAN there is an option there to set a switch port for that vlan interface to monitor. That way is will show as 'down' to the os if the port is unplugged. Otherwise the VLAN will always show as up because the internal link to the switch cannot go down.
