I have a 60 mbit connection that i am able to saturate most times of the day if I wanted to.

However, I am noticing really slow page lookups. If I type an address in the browser, it sits there for a second or two before loading the page.

I know part of this may be slow DNS, but are there any settings I can change in PFsense to make the connection respond/feel faster?

No.  If your ISP DNS is slow, don't use it.  I already talked about this in your other thread about DNS.

Latency is primarily caused by one of two things, bufferbloat or distance. One way to fight the only one you have control over is to rate limit your connection. You can find better info about this in the Traffic Shaping forum.
