      Dear Forum,

LCDproc-dev with FireBox Driver on pfSense 2.2.2 Errors  >:(

Got two brand new Lanner boxes with a front LCD but failed to get it to work. The front LCD only shows:  "Cli:0 and A=Scr:0" oder “ -> options” and otherwise nothing. Briefly it worked for a couple of seconds showing the “screens” Status information; but only once, and then, never again. In the Syslog it always show the following (Without any Error descriptions):

      Apr 27 13:06:10 fw1 LCDd: LCDd version 0.5.7 starting
      Apr 27 13:06:10 fw1 LCDd: Using Configuration File: /usr/pbi/lcdproc-amd64/local/etc/LCDd.conf
Apr 27 13:06:10 fw1 LCDd: Listening for queries on 127.0.0.1:13666
Apr 27 13:06:10 fw1 php: lcdproc: Start client procedure. Error counter: (0)
Apr 27 13:06:21 fw1 php: lcdproc: Failed to connect to LCDd process Operation timed out (60)
Apr 27 13:06:21 fw1 php: lcdproc: Start client procedure. Error counter: (1)
Apr 27 13:06:33 fw1 php: lcdproc: Failed to connect to LCDd process Operation timed out (60)
Apr 27 13:06:33 fw1 php: lcdproc: Start client procedure. Error counter: (2)

      My Settings:

Services -> LCDproc -> Enable on:
        - "Parallel port 1 (/dev/lpt0)", 2x20, Driver:"Watchguard Firebox with SDEC"
"8bit wiring winamp style to parallel port", 5 seconds, default..,no LEDs

What can we do? Thanks in advance for any help.

        :) Solved it myself:

        Diagnostics -> Edit File -> "/usr/local/pkg/lcdproc.inc"
change "localhost" for "127.0.0.1" to fix bug
(where LCD screen only showed "Cli:0 and A=Scr:0" or "-> options")
Works, but still has syslog error messages when shutting down:
        "LCDd: sock_send: socket write error"
"LCDd: sdeclcd: cannot release IO-permission for 0x378!"
