      Hello-

      I can't seem to find an answer to this.
      In pfsense under DNS resolver I can add hosts with the domain name and map it to an IP like :
      nextcloud.website.com > 10.0.0.2

      But how can I make an entry for the base domain, as in just :

      website.com > 10.0.0.2

      I tried editing the hosts file directly like I would with Linux but it gets overwritten .

      This worked well with ClearOS.

      Thanks!

        Make it for host website and domain com

        You could do the same under additional names in the nextcloud.website.com entry.

          Just create a host override for domain.com and leave the host name empty. But I would recommend to create an additional host name for the Domain and name it www, so clients can either enter www.domain.com or just domain.com and reach your local server.

            Weird. I could swear the gui wouldn't accept that without both the hostname and domain parts. Seems to work now. 🤷

            So yeah specifying a blank hostname and the domain is more straightforward.

              @bahsig

              This was the first thing I tried to do and was stumped cause it wouldn't let me.

              Now it just let me.

              Mind blown.

              Thanks!
