Just now starting to poke at it, and hopefully someone else has run across this – I got some hits while searching here but no resolutions.

When I configure and let a client get an IPV6 address from the DHCPV6 Server/RA whatever that thing is, the obtaining addresses and connectivity to other DHCPv6 clients works, but names can't be resolved.

Workaround has been to manually assign IPv6 addresses and enter the hostname/IPV6 address in the DNS resolver Host Overrides.

I have the Dynamic DNS enabled.
BTW, the contextual help button is pretty slick -- but I can't figure out a way to drag it all the way down the screen to the dynamic DNS section - it's off the screen, and whil draggin the button the screen doesn't scroll!

Does the settings for the RA affect this? Perhaps I have the settings wrong there -- I have the "Use same settings as the DHCPv6 server" checked in the DNS section.
      Router advertisements are "Assisted".

Probably it is a side effect from what is being discussed here: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=89589.0

IPv4 DHCP hosts are loaded into the DNS Resolver 'unbound' when a new host leases an IPv4 (unbound restart while doing so, that's where https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=89589.0 is all about).

Dealing out IPv6 doesn't inform the local DNS (= unbound) so the local host name stays non-resolved.

I didn't looked it up in the code …

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??
