Please explain in some detail how this works. Exactly how will using a VPN prevent the execution of a piece of ransomware you receive via an email link or by clicking a webpage link?

yeah utter nonsense!
but it has a way of safeguarding you from being affected by viruses and malware. And of course, it could keep hackers at bay.
A vpn has zero to do with any of this.

Honestly, when I first saw this yesterday I was expecting to see a link to some skeevy VPS provider at the bottom.

Yeah since one day I‘m thinking what kind of Spam is this about. ;-)

Yeah if you guys thought it was spam... How about reporting it? ;) But will keep an eye on thread and if some link to some vpn site shows up then will just ban and purge ;)
I concur it does look pretty spammy - but can not see any links in it, doesn't name any specific vpn service, etc.

I saw this yesterday AM, flagged the account and have been watching it.
Please Guys/Gals, anything tingles your spidey sense for spam, please don't hesitate to flag it.
We HATE spam.

And that's why I didn't flag it as spam. It was just a generic opinion post, and it was in the proper place.
