        Curious. I would expect IPAlias to work just fine in that scenario.

        Glad you were able to get it up and running though.

          An IP Alias might catch sshd running on the firewall itself, since it would be a listening address on the firewall.

          An Other VIP would pass connections to port 22 through the firewall.

          You never really need a type Other VIP. All it is is a menu item for some of the pfSense GUI selectors. It does absolutely nothing related to the passing of traffic.

            @Derelict thanks for the heads up . Ive actually been playing with the settings and other appliances in my network , and finally got everything to work with IP Alias as well which I'm finally happy about...7 hours later . :)

            The pfsense box isn't the only security appliance in my network .
