      Hi!

I have searched the forums and can't seem to find anything that is particular to my specific situation.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We recently changed Voice providers, moving from a Windstream PRI to a Comcast PRI.  Since our Windstream PRI only came with a 512K data line, we were using Verizon FIOS (75/75) for our data traffic.  Now that we have Comcast, it comes with the Deluxe 100+ broadband service (100/20).

We will be keeping both internet providers so that we have a backup, but I was wondering if it is possible to setup pfSense to use the Comcast connection as the primary for downloads and the FIOS as primary for uploads, since the FIOS has a faster upload speed.

      Any thoughts?

      Thanks,

      Scott

PFSense doesn't have a way to tell two connections apart to distinguish which is upload or download (By the time it starts uploading or downloading, it has already had to make a decision about which connection to use).

So unless you have a way to distinguish these two for it (IE, this specific IP address is always upload), it isn't possible. I'm not saying you can't load balance –-- You just can't load balance like that.
