so we had an fwa 6500 lying around in our store, not sure what was it acquired for initially but i decided to install pfsense on it
everything went great. now as per their site http://www.advantech.pk/products/1-2JKD0B/FWA-6500/mod_e07435df-0ae9-46ed-b3f6-2e26a8e41a11.aspx, it is supposed to have 2 10gig modules.
i tried from assign interffaces from console it would only show intel R pro 1000 network connection and when i tried from web i.e. advanced option in the concerned interface;s speed, it wouldnt show 10gig, only 1000 full duplex and half
I enabled ixgbe by plalcign if_ixgbe_load="YES"  as well as if_ixgb_load="YES" in loader.conf.local as well as loader.conf but nothing would change
can anyone please tell me if i'm missing anything?

Per their site, it looks like it can be populated with four modules that could be either 4x GB or 2x10GB SFF. The two 'management' NICs are built-in.
Does the unit have a module with 2 SFF ports? If so, try re-seating. IIRC, ixgbe is in the kernel and doesn't need to be manually loaded.

well after reading your post i realized that maybe it didnt even have the 10gbe ports since if they were it must have in pair of 2, not 4ports installed via 2 pcie cards :/
