Recommendations for upgrade from apu2?

Currently we're running pfSense on an apu2, and we've been very happy with it, but our internet connection has been upgraded to Gigabit the the poor apu2 cannot keep up. It maxes out at about 400Mb. Combined with the fact that the apu2 can only push about 40Mb through openvpn and I think it's time for an upgrade.
I've considered just building a PC, but that seems a relatively expensive option, and I'd prefer something smaller. (Something rack-mountable would be even better, though I guess this probably conflicts with the "too expensive" problem.)
Suggestions would be welcome!

What is your budget?
The XG-7100-1U is rack mount and will handle 1Gbps easily. It also has 10G SFP slots but you may not need/want those.

Yeah, I've looked at the 7100. It would certainly do the trick, and it's not out of my budget, but it just seems a little expensive for what it is. A thousand bucks would buy quite a lot of iron elsewhere.
