Sorry for what might be a simple solution. I enjoy technology, but it’s not my field.

My pfsense box just died tonight and now along with not being able to access the internet I also can’t access anything else on my network. I know I have a dhcp server function on my dell managed switch and also on my Synology nas, but I’m unable to “get” to them. I planed on turning on my cable modem fire wall, and using one of the two devices for my dhcp server until I can get another box built, but I’m not as tech savvy as I need to be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I’ve spent hours on this with zero headway.

      Thank you,

      Tim C.

Hours doing what exactly? What are you wanting us to help you with??

How to run dhcpd on your synology? If you want help with your dell switch being a dhcp server or your NAS you should be on their forums..

If your cable 'modem' has a firewall function it's probably a router and has a dhcp server. Enabling that is probably easiest.
