Save .xml's of partial configs for specific use-cases, like an .xml for voip.

I want to be able to put together a collection of importable .xml's to handle specific use cases for like when a client has a specific VoIP setup, maybe one for dual wan. But obviously only partial.
For example I would have a saved generic config which has all the settings I want in all firewalls, then I can pick from a subset of other .xml's to import other parts of the config.
Is that possible?

Kind of. You can backup & restore a complete config, or subsections individually. You could make your generic complete config and restore that, and then restore the specific subsection configs you want which would overwrite the settings of the general config for just those sections. It would still be a multi-stage thing, and there will likely be lots of fiddling due to the backup being for that specific machine, NICs, WAN, LAN etc etc.

Yeah it would be hard to do. Most things like that involve edits to multiple sections.
You could maybe diff the configs against default and then apply it as a patch. But you would likely only be able to apply one patch as subsequent patches would not apply cleanly.
