serial console not working

I've never had to use the serial console on my SG-1100 until today... only to find that it doesn't work.

Not sure if you have resolved this issue yet. It looks like the port gets detected and then is removed. I had the same problem with mine. It seems the plastic case does not allow the "mini USB" to seat fully. If you can try a cable with a bit longer "mini USB" end on it, it will help. Yous can also push the cable a bit.
I also loosened the 4 screws on the bottom of the unit (do not remove them), and push the board toward the "mini USB" opening that also gave me enough romm to keep the cable seated.
In the end, I got a cable with a bit longer "mini USB" end on it.

I ran into this last night. I actually cut the plastic around the microUSB down to size and there is no attempt at recognition of the device on two different windows machines with the pl2303 drivers installed.

@Kleinmann I couldn’t get it to work with any cable so I opened a support ticket. They replaced my hardware at only the cost it took me to ship it to them in Texas.
