I keep wondering why my pfsense restarts on its own though i didn't do anything. sometimes i see errors on in the log saying re0 watchdog timeout. and I also see crash report error. does this cause the problem? why it keeps restarting?

First you need read crash report, or attached it here. Second, did you enable watchdog in your bios/uefi? Try disable it for test.
