Is pfsense for me?
-
I am looking at pfsense for a firewall/router solution and would like to know if it would be what I am looking for. I currently use a ipcop box but having problems with my mail servers in the dmz zone with rdns. I have pppoe adsl with a /29 static ip block.
would pfsense work for this type setup?
adsl modem in bridged mode-> firewall/router -> 1st switch with 2 servers using 4 static ips, 2nd switch with several pcs sharing 1 static ips.any info would help
Thanks Dave -
Can you provide some more info about your pppoe WAN? Do you have login credentials for this? Is your WAN IP part of that /29 subnet? I think it should work but would need some more infos to make sure.

This should be doable using "proxyARP" virtual IPs then, maybe even type "other". Just test it using the live cd. You don't have to install anything for evaluation purpose.
