      Hi Everyone

      I have been reading around on the forums, but I don't seem to find a solid answer.
      I want to add a secondary PTP link as a backup or for load balancing.

      The problem is that the PTP links are on the same subnet, and I am not sure if I should bridge them or not and then set up a gateway group?

      My router has four interfaces.

      em0: WAN 192.168.118.4
      em1:LAN 192.168.200.x
      em:3 does not allow the same subnet as em0
      em:4

      Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Kind Regards,
      Jaco

        LAGG both ethernet ports.

          Thanks for the response @NogBadTheBad

          I can only add interfaces to the LAGG that is unassigned.

          So I can take above-mentioned em3 and em4, LAGG them.

          Delete em0: WAN (because i cant assign the same subnet to the LAGG interface as the wan.

          And theoretically, I should be able to assign the deleted WAN interface's ip to the LAGG interface and plug the deleted WAN cable into EM3 and the new WAN2 into em4 and they should work?

            Think so, I just noticed you cant LAGG assigned interfaces.

            I'll have a play with my two VMs.

              @NogBadTheBad

              I did get the steps above to work successfully , I just had to change the default gateway to the new LAGG interface and allow the firewall rules on the new interface to allow traffic to the LAN.

              Thank you for trying with the VM's :D!

              Are you aware of any possible issues regarding VOIP if the traffic gets load balanced? ( the LAGG protocol is currently set to LOAD BALANCED)

              Would LACP be better? But I am assuming there might be issues due to the two PTP WAN links not being LACP aware?

              Kind Regards,
              Jaco

                @jacoventer

                You could try LACP, to be honest I'd use FAILOVER.
