Hello,
Processor=c3558
NIC=SoC
Version=2.4.4 p3Installation went through but it has detetected my 4 Lan ports 1Gbe as 10Gbe. Any thoughts or solution to this?
It is running fine but worry is there that there might be some impact on performance?thanks for any help in advance

What's the motherboard ?
-
its from sunrich and they said the NIC are MARVELL PHY 88E1543 which is SoC on 3558
-
can you make a screenshot of that?
-
i must add you cant see the 10Gbe on the GUI..you can see it only on the console as you go to ASSIGN INTERFACES or on the list of interfaces before the menu comes up
-
-
nothing to worry about, that is just the generic name that the driver think it is
the real speed link is what is reported on the GUI -
@kiokoman this is better showing the ix interfaces
-
yeah, i was able to zoom in on the first image, as I told you, it's only the generic name assigned by the driver.
the ix driver serves alot of (intel) network card, included 10gbe -
so this issue was already raised prior to this thread...thanks alot..good night

It's not an issue, it's normal.
ix
is the driver. It is a 10G capable chipset and driver, but depending on the actual implementation, is perfectly happy operating at 1G or other compatible speeds/media types/etc. There are ports on the Netgate SG-5100 which are similar. They are detected asix
but the physical connection is 1G, not 10G. It will link up and run as expected at 1G.Think of it similar to a 10G capable SFP port with a 1G module in it. Sure, the chip can go faster, but the media connection is only 1G.
