Those were good boxes back in their day. Im not surprised to see some still running. But looking at the Netgate product page..

      https://www.netgate.com/products/appliances/

Go down under pfsense appliances.. The smallest SG-1100 is more powerful than what you have now and decently priced.

If I were looking to replace what you have now with a like product (red case, display, ports in a row.. Id look for a retired Watchguard XTM5 box or an M-400. The XTM5 is getting up there in years already and wont do AES-NI should the need come to be. Im not sure about the M-400 as Ive not looked.

      Triggering snowflakes one by one..
      Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590T CPU @ 2.00GHz on an M400 WG box.

        Hello,
Thank you for the quick reply.
I do not know if you can find the WG M400 at a good price, because these devices probably still work under a license?
I'm starting to think more about some 1U server machine [uATX?] for my rack. But maybe this is the wrong direction ...?

[Edit]: But I will look for such.

            Helo @stephenw10

Similar to the purchase price of the X700 .... in 2012?
Of course after the end of the license period ... ;-)
I need it for a small network for up to 20 computers.

Hmm, well those have always been very cheap as far as I can recall.

Our SG-3100 would probably work well for you but it's not rack mount.

And how much does it cost? Approximately of course ...
I don't see prices on the website.

                  It's currently $400: https://store.netgate.com/SG-3100.aspx

Hm ... I don't know how to write it.
In my country, $ 400 is a lot of money. Average earnings are around 800 $. I will say this: $ 300 should be enough for a 1U mini ITX format(used). I don't know if I will try in this direction.

Yeah, that's not something we could ever offer at that price point new I would think.

Check what is available second hand locally to you. A lot of x86 based hardware can be repurposed with pfSense. Just make sure it's 64bit and preferably has a CPU that supports AES-NI (not yet a strict requirement).

I have to speed up .....
The power supply has died and is unusual and thus expensive. :-(

WG X700 is a thing of the past. It's a pity!
