I can't seem to find an archive of installer images. I am in need of the 2.4.2-p1 installation so I can setup high availability of with an existing install so that I can upgrade without significant downtime. I tried a new install of 2.4.4-p3 but config sync fails due to version mismatch.

Older versions are security risks in that they may have holes or bugs that have since been patched. You won't find older versions except at random online sites where you don't know if they have been altered. Perhaps a better solution might be to upgrade your 2.4.2 install to 2.4.4 and then match them.

I understand the security risk, however having the old version available would allow me to fix the current risk I have. They give me the same small downtime window to do multiple things I just can't complete them all in the window and this one keeps getting missed. I was hoping the additional hardware would get me out of this bind but without the old version to install I am still stuck. Hoping that one time I will get to it before my window runs out, or I can convince them to let me put off one of the other task a week because this one is so far behind.

Netgate doesn't make older versions available so that's that. You're either going to upgrade first then use 2.4.4, or Google your way to some random website and hope for the best.

If enough eyeballs see your post here, maybe someone has that specific older version in their archive they can offer you.

You can get it done in a short maintenance window without bothering with the insecure old version.

              1. Get the new hardware up on 2.4.4-p3 without any extra configuration
              2. Restore your current config to this box -- it will be your new primary
              3. Swap in the new box in place of the old

If it all works, then you take the old hardware, install 2.4.4-p3 on it and now that's your new secondary. If it didn't work, then you still have your current 2.4.4-p2 box and can swap it back in place and then investigate why it failed. If you want an extra dose of safety, then swap out the disk in the current system so you have the running copy of 2.4.2-p1 preserved.

If you can't get enough of a maintenance window to do it properly, it's a management issue, not a technical one. Trying to force you to work with zero downtime is insane and shouldn't be encouraged.
