      Hi, can anyone please help...

Why OPT and also LAN show using 100fdx and not 1000fdx? This is from the dashboard, LAN goes to a 1Gb TPlink switch, shouldn't be 1000baseTX? Also OPT into one Unify AP/AC LITE, why only 100?

      Interfaces
      WAN 1000baseT <full-duplex,master> x.x.x.x
      LAN 100baseTX <full-duplex> 192.168.1.1
      OPT 100baseTX <full-duplex> 192.168.5.1
      LAN Uplink Ethernet 1000baseT <full-duplex>
      Switch Uplink n/a
      OPT 100baseTX <full-duplex>
      Switch Port n/a
      LAN 100baseTX <full-duplex>
      Switch Port n/a
      WAN 1000baseT <full-duplex,master>
      Switch Port n/a

As a second question, is this a good setup in regards to using OPT? Should I have instead everyting on LAN and use vLANS? Any good use cases for OPT?

      Appreciate your attention and time.
      H.

Found the answer, at least for the first part...replaced the cables and made sure all connectors are firm into place. This seems to have fixed several issues experienced over wifi with the Unify Lite

        Interfaces
        WAN 1000baseT <full-duplex,master> x.x.x.x
        LAN 1000baseT <full-duplex> 192.168.1.1
        OPT 1000baseT <full-duplex> 192.168.5.1
        GUEST 1000baseT <full-duplex> 192.168.50.1
        ...

As for the second part I did use OPT in two scenario, both working: OPT and LAN on same VLAN. In this case the OPT interface did not use its own rules or DHCP, it all came from LAN. Changed it back as it comes from the factory, OPT and LAN as separated VLANs, they do work independently of each other.

Separating LAN from wifi clients is generally good practice but it can cause problems for some services that reply on a single layer 2 to 'see' each other.
As with most things security is convenience is a trade off.
