      I uninstalled vnstat2 but the menu item for it still show up.  When I click on it, I get an error that the package doesn't exist.  How can I remove this phantom menu item?

        Before messing with config.xml, why don't you just reinstall and uninstall again?

          I while back I ended up with two vnstat menu entries 'vnstat2' and 'Vnstat2' and the only way to remove one of them was to modify the config.xml file. You need to look for and remove following XML code:

          <menu>
                                  <name>Vnstat2</name>
                                  <tooltiptext>Status
                                  <url>/pkg_edit.php?xml=vnstat2.xml&id=0</url></tooltiptext> </menu>
