interface speed

Hey All;
I have a netgate sg1000 running pfsense, the lan interface is set to autodetect and is being set to 100TX full duplex. I am using cat5e cable connected to a GB switch. I'm getting a max download speed of 13Mb/sec. I'm planning on a reinstall of pfsense, but wonder if anyone has a better idea.

Switch set to 100/full ?
Try connecting a PC direct to the router.

The switch is a simple netgear 4-port, there are no settings to change. I have connected a pc direct to the router, I get a download speed of 200Mb/s, I then took the switch out of the equation, i.e. connect the netgate directly to the modem and a pc directly to the netgate, download speed drops to approx 13Mb/s

What interface speed & duplex does the PC & router report back ?
Whats the Netgear switch model ?

Try a different cable. A defective cable can cause Gb ports to run at 100 Mb and also cause poor performance.

Rogers is being a pill. I was given the wrong login credentials, so I can't see what's going on, they claim they have no access to the modem and I have to do a factory reset to change the credentials. I don't have time for that right now.
I have swapped out the patch cable for a brand new one, no change. Double natting may be at least part of the problem, but apparently I am stuck with that. I switched out the 4 port switch for an 8-port switch no difference. Gotta run, I'll take another look at this later today. -
Try running on the SG-1000 at the command line:
ifconfig -a
and
etherswitchcfg

The default ID is "cusadmin" and the password is "password". If the modem is in gateway mode, you use the gateway address. If in bridge mode, use 192.168.100.1.
IIRC, they do have access. When I had some IPv6 problems, earlier this year, the tech put another password on my modem, which I didn't know and I had to call them to reset it.
If first level support can't help, ask for 2nd level. I often do that as I find I'm wasting my time talking to 1st level.
