      Hello all,

I installed a Solarflare SFN5322F in my pfSense box (supermicro 1ru server I3). I searched but didn't come up with much as far as the installation of the drivers. I am assuming its a driver issue as the card is not showing up in the interfaces tab. I know the card is powered since I can loop the optic and get it to come up but nothing is showing in the software.

This is a home box I'm building just to give it a try and am not familiar with pfSense or Linux and any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm kinda stumped on this..

      Thanks again!

Or if anyone could suggest a different form or place to ask this question, that would be great as well!!

pfSense is not running Linux as an OS underneath. It's FreeBSD. If and how your card is working with FreeBSD you have to check there:

          https://www.freebsd.org/releases/11.1R/hardware.html#ethernet

Also have a look at the dmesg output if the card shows up at all.

If you're interested, I'm available to discuss details of German-speaking paid support (for companies) if needed.
