I'm having a problem with my APU2 and I want to upgrade to something a little more stable. I don't need more than 600Mb or so and my requirements are the same. 3 NIC's, low powered, silent, supports mSATA, etc.

What's the box on Amazon these days that is reliable and robust?

As you can see in my signature i have a APU2 and no troubles at all - what problems have you? And what APU2 model have you? A little more Info could be helpfull!

        Regards,

I'm on my second board. There is a known issue with arcing if you pull the power cable. I could deal with it, but I'd rather not be so "careful". Once bitten twice shy. If it happens again, I want something else.

Install pfsense with ZFS Filesystem then it is not so problematic when you pull the power cable ... ;-)

@fireodo I don't think you understand. It fried the board.

OK, sorry, never heard about such a problem with the APU2 Boards ...

Could you point to a source where this behaviour is described? I use several APUs in branch offices and if what you said is the case, i would put it in my notes to never pull the plug without shutting down.

However it was posted elsewhere and I can't find it anymore. Basically pull the wall wart, not the barrel connector.

Hmm, I don't think I've ever done anything but pulling the barrel connector on the APU(1) I have. Never seen any issues.
