Email alert on link saturation
-
Hello,
I am new on pfsense
We wonder if it is possible to create an alert when the incomming traffic through any WAN interface, is more than 19 Mbps.
This should be an email or anything that can really notify to me when this happens
If the alert just creates a event and I need to access pfsense to view the events, it is not so useful to me.
I just see ntopng: https://www.ntop.org/guides/ntopng/basic_concepts/alerts.html
In the place where this say "The following figure shows all the thresholds that can be set on every interface", any thresold about trafic seems to be for send+recived: It is useful if the alert tell me when download traffic OR upload traffic are reaching 20 Mbps, but almost never download+upload will reach about 40 Mbps.
Any idea?Thanks
Regards

That would be a job for a network monitoring system, not the firewall. Setting up those kinds of alerts in something like Zabbix is much more appropriate and flexible.

Zabbix
Hello, thanks for your reply
To analyze if we can use a third party software we should first discard all other options.
There is not another way to configure email alerts? Thanks
