      So, hmmm… when I use the reinstall button to reinstall or upgrade a package, I cannot see the output window at all, until the reinstall is almost finished. Then it spits out everything at one time.

        Turns out to be Google Chrome v46 bug coincding with the time I updated to newer pfSense snapshot. Thank you very much, Google.  >:( >:( >:(

          Just FYI, fixed in Chrome a couple of days ago. (And meanwhile screwed a whole bunch of other JS: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=527930)  ::)
