Do you actually have all your interfaces on the same subnet? If yes, that's your problem, stop doing that. If not, what in your config is causing it to report that insanity?

              @x88dually said in Renaming Interfaces:

              10.10.10.200/24

              these address ranges would encompass-

              WAN 10.10.10.0/24

              LAN 10.10.10.0/24

              OPT 1 10.10.10.0/24

              OPT 2 10.10.10.0/24

              These overlap.

If your WAN and LAN are truly assigned as you state then you shouldn't even be online with that box.

ok, so i put each nic on a different subnet, can i still keep switches in 10g ports seeing each other ?

Theres a media server, rokus, amFireTv;s smart tv's and an Ooma. All these things want dhcp running.

Were you trying to bridge those interfaces to one subnet?

You should still only have one IP defined in that subnet if so.

It's unclear where your 10G ports / switches are in this setup. Can we see a diagram?

                    no bridge

                    diagram.....

                    pfaense opt2--MikroTik 8 port 10g switch. ports 1, 2, 3 all goto netgear 8 port gig switches.

pfsense Lan--MikroTik 8 port 10g switch. 4,5 goto netgear 8 port gig switches.

pfsense opt1--Netgear 5 port gig switch. Ooma, Amazon fireTV's,Roku's dont like 8 port switches.

What kind of internet connection are you working with? Can your modem be put into bridge mode? That would fix the WAN address issue..

Put each of your interfaces on their own subnet.

                      Something like

                      LAN 10.20.1.1/24

                      OPT1 10.12.1.1/24

                      OPT2 10.15.1.1/25

Set up your DHCP servers accordingly. There will be a tab for each of these interfaces.

I assume your mean those Mikrotik switches specifically?

If you're not trying to bridge them then, yes, they all need to be in separate subnets.

It might do. You certainly won't get that working with a subnet conflict.
