      Hi Guys

Got everything built and installed. The board has 4 ports (not counting the impi) and the manual states that they are IGB1 thru IGB 4

When I goto set the WAN in pfsense I tell it IGB1 and set lan to IGB 2. I just want to make sure that is correct and that when I plug the cables in they go in those as stated in manual. I did so but am not pulling an automatic IP from verizon FIOS. Don't know if I plugged in wrong one or typed in wrong device name for wan/lan

Is there a command that I can ping the nic or check to see what is going on

I know this is probably something simple and stupid but I can't get pfsense to pull an ip for wan

      Thanks

      Peter

        Hello Peter,

I know this is probably something simple and stupid but I can't get pfsense to pull an ip for wan

Go to the BIOS and search there for the IPMI settings and then have a look for the "use the IPMI
as WAN fall back" and disable this setting.

login to the IPMI web portal,  go to Configuration->Network,  set Lan Interface to Dedicate, Save then reboot the box, the WAN port should be able to get IP from ISP modem.
