I am thinking of buying netgate sg-1100 to replace my Verizon Fios router. Does it come with a built in Wireless Access Point or do I have to order one separately? If I do have to buy a WAP separately which one would you recommend?I have about 1500 square feet condominium.

No AP, you can check the SG-1100 specs here: https://www.netgate.com/solutions/pfsense/sg-1100.html

If you use fios set top boxes, you will need a ethernet to moca adapter and set it up with a static ip and port forward port 4567 tcp/udp to it. Please note it is really tricky to get this to work with the new fios one boxes and even if you do, you will not receive firmware updates for it. It is easy and works fine with the quantum or earlier boxes.

@techpro2004, thanks so very much for replying. I don't have a setup box and only keep a Verizon FiOS G-1100 router. Having said that, I see that Netgate sg-1100 WAN input is an Ethernet jack. So I am guessing I will still need some type of adapter to convert from the coax to Ethernet?

You (or verizon) will need to run a ethernet cable from your ont (box on side of building) to your router location, then call verizon and they will activate it. The other option is to put your G-1100 into bridge mode. There are instructions for this all over the internet. This is a reputable site here (https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r31057540-Networking-HOW-TO-Bridge-G1100-So-your-Router-becomes-Primary)
