i am just checking if this is normal. i've never used Pfsense in WAN mode

i recently moved to a static WAN ip address. now under services > dhcp server. there is a wan tab (screenshot) it is not enabled.

is this normal/ expected? or did i enable something on accident somehow? Screen Shot 2020-03-01 at 6.40.49 PM.png

Yes, the DHCP server can be enabled on any interface with a static IPv4 address. You obviously would not want to enable it on WAN normally though.

            Good point! ☺
Any interface with a static IPv4 address in a subnet large enough to have IPs available to lease.
