Intel G5600 and AsRock B365M-ITX/AC
-
Hi guys,
I was thinking about to build a new config with the Intel Pentium G5600 (3.90 GHz) and the ITX Motherboard AsRock B365M-ITX (I would also add a pci-e intel pro/1000 x2 NICs).
I have a gigabit internet connection and I'd like to take advantage of OpenVPN to reach my lan outside.
What do you think about it? Is it overkilled for my daily usage?
What do you suggest for the same price range? I don't want to buy old hw pieces.. -
You want 1Gbps OpenVPN?
That' hard to achieve as OpenVPN is single threaded. It's not overkill if that's the case, you need as fast a CPU cores as you can get.

Thank you for the clarification. Btw, no I don't need a full gig OpenVPN.
I read other threads with a lot of people using the previous G4620 with good OpenVPN performances.I was also thinking about add a 10gtek 82576-GE-2T-X4 1Gb/s NICs (x2).

I've never used that particular card myself but I wouldn't expect any issues with it.
If you don't need Gig VPN then that CPU will do almost anything you might want.
