Picture Widget
-
Has the behaviour of the picture widget changed with 2.4.5, safari & firefox now seem to want to download a file called widget_image.picture-0 now rather than open the picture in a new tab.
-
He - ho, @NogBadTheBad : this is forum.netgate.com, not Istagram.Oh ... there is really a Picture widget ....
-
LOL no sorry the pfSense picture widget.
-
There were some changes made to it since it wasn't properly validating its inputs. Though I don't recall anything specific that would have changed the output, just protected the input.
-
Ok, found it.
I threw a jpg in it.
Works.
-
now click on it and see what happen,
on chrome it download it
that's because there is no extension on the file, it's widget_image.picture-0 instead of widget_image.picture-0.jpg -
Yeah when you click on it - get this
But now sure what it did before - for the life of me don't really get what the point of that widget would be - other than say an image of the device, so if someone was looking for it in a rack or something ;)
-
Got the same Open with or Save file as @johnpoz, probably because I'm using FF also.
The file is recogniseed as a jpg file - when I actually download it, it's a jpeg file.
This actually a feature ! No more need to right click to save the image, a left click will do.@NogBadTheBad : re upload the original image file to set the settings - filename - straight ?
Btw : why downloding a file that we put in place ourselves in the first place ?
Why clicking on it ?
I can actually touch it, isn't that far better ? -
I use it for a complete network diagram with switch ports connected to end devices, etc ...
It’s handy if i quickly want to check something.
Also it’s available on every device that can connect to the router.
-
Sure.
But why clicking on the image ?
-
The image is huge.

Since I found out I could display gifs it's been amusing me daily.
