After upgrade from 2.4.4 to 2.4.5, my APU crashes daily or hung with "Panic String: cannot reassign paging buffer".

      Two crash dumps are available:
Panic string: "cannot reassign paging buffer"

      Out write errors in msgbuf.txt:

      (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Command Specific Info: 0xaa5500
(da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Retrying command (per sense data)
      g_vfs_done():ufsid/5d7d0015a4c20861[WRITE(offset=728137728, length=32768)]error = 6*)

System and swap is installed on the internal APU SD card.

LAN via RealTek 8168/8111 and Atheros 9280 wifi are used.
Packages pfblocker, snort, unbound, arpwatch and service watchdog are installed.

I guess, the write errors inidicate a problem on the SD card? - Spooky, becaue worked with 2.4.4 without any problems. Any changed USB drivers in 2.4.5 / FreeBSD 11.3?

Do you have any idea, what I can do?

Edit: Turned of swap on SD card.

You've been hiding possible already existing issues by skipping the 'do a simple reboot' before upgrading. See release notes.

The same release notes asked for a copy of you config.xml.
Consider doing a clean pfSense install. You'll be up and running in no time. Impossible to tell, but changes are very small that switching from 2.4.4-p3 to 2.4.5 changes from FreeBSD 11.2 to 11.3 did drop support for your SD card.

        Can't tell.
You'll be fixed as soon as you get past these SD drive failures.

You're using snort( == biiiiig) and pfBlockerNG (could also eat memory depending how many lists you've activated) : you're sure you have enough RAM ?
Disabling SWAP has little advantages,, and can have huge side effects like OOM's

Edit : and where are the logs ??

Sorry, don't understand what do you mean with the release notes and copy config file.

The system ran about 10 days without any issues after the upgrade.

Memory is not a issue with my setup, worked for 10 days with 2.5 wihtout any problem, also since several years with previous releases.
Disabled swap to reduce the writes on the SD card in case of write errrors which can lead to crashes.

            Aha !
That closes in on a hardware failure.
            Swap out the SD.
