      Trying to setup BIND DNS server for VMware lab on pfSense v2.4.5.
      I'm getting this error:

      > ls example.net
      [[192.168.1.1]]
      Can't list domain example.net: BAD ERROR VALUE
      The DNS server refused to transfer the zone example.net to your computer. If this
      is incorrect, check the zone transfer security settings for example.net on the DNS
      server at IP address 192.168.1.1.

      Any help would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks

        @rio236 said in Bind DNS server refused to transfer zone.:

        ls example.net

        Just to be sure ;
        Is 'ls' here some command line command used by some kind of bind (named / rndc) command line interface ?
        Never saw that before. I'm using bind a lot myself, although not the pfSense package.

        But if want to 'pull' the entire zone, then yes, at least the IP of the device you are using should be set up as a slave or device that is authorised to load the entire zone.

        No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
        Edit : and where are the logs ??
