Have you actually tried changing it? I've changed mine a few times.

I sure did! The problem is I have no reputation points.
You need reputation points to be able to change your signature.
I have none, so I can't change it. After the migration from the pfSense forum to the Netgate forum they migrated my (old) signature but I have no way to change it now.

If I can't change it myself, than it can removed entirely.
