Hi,
Need to tell us more.
[2.4.5-RELEASE][admin@pfsense.my-domainl.net]/root: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/mysql-server.sh start /usr/local/etc/rc.d/mysql-server.sh: Command not found.
As you might know :
mysql-server isn't a pfSense package,
pfSense is based of FreeBSD,
It's true, some native FreeBSD packages can be installed on pfSense, like 'nano'. These are always packages with a small file foot print, and few dependencies. mysql-server has a big (no : huge) file foot print - a lot of files are places all over the file system.
And guess what : the pfSense file system doesn't follow native FreeBSD file system. There are differences. What mysql-server version you installed ? It matches the kernel version number that your pfSense is using ? Like FreeBSD 11.3.
Again, true, it can be done.
It's like installing WordPress, Postfix, Apache2, Halo3 or CounterStrike on pfSense : it's not in the manual. So you'll be on your own.
Because pfSense is a firewall. Not some 'server' device. A firewall is a security device. nOn secure services don't belong on a firewall.@ahmetakkaya said in WARNING: failed to start mysql:
Bad -c option
I checked some mysql-server startup command line option, and couldn't find anything about a "-c" option. That is : Google doesn't know about it. Great. You just defeated the 230 Yotta bytes of Google data index.
The error description was :

I'm getting an error
So I end with the beginning : tell us more.
Btw : I had mysql-server running on pfSense ones, years ago. Ancient forum thread talk about the subject, installing mysql-server.
But every update was a hassle. Had to redo the mysql setup nearly every time a pfSense update came out. I finally created a dedicated server device on my network with the needed functionalities. VM's are just great for this. -
clean installation done same for pfsense mysql57 version and mysql80
I made a new installation, not an update
my problem is mysql after installation. mysql does not open before sudden eletric interruption.
I installed it many times and tried this scenario shock power outage
mysql not working also in sudden shutdown help?

??
mysql is the absolute winner in "who has the most files open at any moment" without contest.
A mysql-server is always run on a device with secured power supply, so a guaranteed clean power down is initiated when needed.
If the mysql-server data files gets broken - file system errors - you'll be in for a very hard time.
Ripping out the power on a mysql-server system is like throwing sand into the gas tank of your car.@ahmetakkaya said in WARNING: failed to start mysql:

It will not open after a sudden eletric interruption, neither.
Use an UPS and power problems are solved.

frustrated pfsense mysql for all
Too bad to be so sensitive
I used a different router, firewall (mikrotik). I did not have a problem even if there was no electricity cut
I cannot afford additional charges for ups.

Too bad to be so sensitivePower issues are hardware issues.
You afforded yourself a - hardware - device (and settings like enabling writing cache, or not, etc) that's more susceptible to have file system issues.
Others (could have) solution have less power issues.@ahmetakkaya said in WARNING: failed to start mysql:

Re read yourself please.
You said : when you do not have a power cut, you do not have problems.
That logic : if everything works then .... yes ... all is well.
Btw : all this has nothing to do with installing and maintaining a mysql-server.

An UPS is just advisable. You do not have to have one.
If you can guarantee that no one is ripping out the power, you'll be fine.
Consider also the ZFS filesystem, which is more resilient to file system problems. -
I installed in ZFS pfsense test environment
I'm still trying, working for now, I continue sudden closings
I will install on the real system when I get results
