Hi All I hope I have posted this in the right place I am new to Pfsense and trying to learn but struggling recently had an issue where my internet speeds dropped significantly from 100mbps to 2 Mbps I hadn't changed anything and when I carry out speedtest directly from the pfsense box its all normal while anything connected drops to 2Mbps or even lower. My upload speeds have been consistent and haven't changed so this leads me to believe its the router fault. I have restarted the router, switch, and all clients restored previous configurations, removed all firewall rules. Pretty much everything you would expect from a novice and I has gained a slight improvement but there is still serious instability where randomly there seems to be latency or even disconnect.

Please could someone assist, the setup is a pfsense box with the following Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N3050 @ 1.60GHz 2 CPUs:, 4gb ram, 4 port intel NIC, connected to a toughswitch 5 poe switch, Virgin media broadband in modem mode, and Engenius AP. Everything is behind the firewall, all items bar google homes are running with a static IP. Speed issue found with all devices phones, laptops, UNraid server etc etc.

        N3050

I'm wondering if your CPU is getting choked out, it's pretty low spec with only two threads. Have you tried, and can you provide, the following:

        1. Monitored the CPU load while doing the hard-wired speed test
        2. Provide the model of the Intel nic
        3. Do a direct connect speed test (remove all hardware, just pfsense + workstation)
        4. check your logs for any errors
