Remote OS install of machines behind pfsense firewall.
-
Hi I have a pfsense firewall with a handful of servers setup at a remote location. I am getting some more bare metal machines which I will be able to KVM into. Is it possible to somehow install the OS through pfsense network boot? Or is this the wrong way to go about this? Maybe there is an easier way to do this since some of the other machines already have OS on them and I can somehow serve the OS between machines. Thanks for the answers :) I love pfsense.

You could look into something called PXE boot. However, I have no idea if pfSense supports it.

Using something like IPMI? With that I can attach an ISO image on my PC and boot the data center server off of it. Takes a while to boot of course as it has to upload but it can be done. pfSense isn't involved in that scenario.
