Package Manager Issues
-
Guys;
I need help some assistance. My package manager seems broken. I can't install or remove packages. I get the message 'Please wait while the update system initializes' but it just sits there.
I am running 2.4.4 r3..I tend to remove all my installed packages prior to doing a system upgrade. My DNS is working. Everything except the package manager is working fine.
Any assistance please. -
Take a backup first via the WebGUI.
Make sure your branch is set to 2.4.4 (System > Update > Update Settings > Branch > Previous stable version 2.4.4)
Then runpkg update -f
from the command line and try again.
You can also upgrade to the latest 2.4.5-p1, this will automatically reinstall all of your packages.-Rico

Rico;
I tried that and the update still stops at initializing. I tried the update from the shell. Option 13. I now get this. /bin/sh: cannot open /usr/local/sbin/pfSense-upgrade: No such file or directory
pfSense - Netgate Device ID: cea014ef1c3187 -
Issue Resolved. I ran this command from the shell.
pfSense-upgrade. Upgraded to 2.4.5 p1 -
Glad you have got it working.
