CoDelQ on interface level
-
In below netgate tutorial it is explained to use CoDel on limiters. Traffic shaping on interface also has a CoDelQ option. Is this therefore not advicable? If not, what should it be used for?

Seen. Source is the one from Netgate (he refers). Doesn't answer the question about CoDelQ on interface level.

It is not the same as fq-codel, i would leave it and use fq-codel. There is several papers, you can google for, that show the performance difference of the two.
-
Then why is the options there? When should it be used?
-
Things gets implemented in different stages, doesn't mean that it gets removed if something better appears.
-
Still not sure if we can conclude that it is deprecated.
-
Who said it was deprecated?
-
Then when should it be used?

You decide yourself what you want to use that's what options give you, just because there are better options than codel in the traffic shaper it still doesn't mean it is deprecated. If you care about the performance difference of codel and fq-codel then once again google can help you out there.

Thanks. Couldn't find a definitive answer to if and when the interface method could be usefull.
Unfortunately my question remains unanswered :).
